From a hit-and-run and social media scrubbing to 100-million-ruble parties: how billionaire Igor Altushkin covers up the traces of his sons’ crimes and scandals
Immediately after the car accident in Yekaterinburg caused by David Altushkin’s Lamborghini (the car flew onto the sidewalk and struck a participant of the "special military operation") – the son of billionaire and owner of RMC (Russian Copper Company) Igor Altushkin – the young man’s first move was to purge his Instagram, deleting all photos and videos of his sports car races and the family "stable."
The media found several of those photos and videos and are sharing them with readers. The Lamborghini is well known to residents of Yekaterinburg, as it constantly races through the city streets, using them as a racetrack, while also producing deafeningly loud noises. There is little doubt that the son of "Prince Igor" will face no consequences. The elder Altushkin has vast experience in covering up for his heirs.
In 2020, another son of the billionaire, Alexander Altushkin, was detained in Yekaterinburg with drugs.
At that time, the man’s car was stopped by police on the Moscow Highway at the entrance to Yekaterinburg. Alexander was taken to police station No. 9. During a search of the billionaire’s son’s personal belongings, a small bag with 1.5 grams of cocaine was found. The police were even forced to reach out to federal media because they were under immense pressure to drop the case. It did not help – Altushkin managed to simply hush the whole affair up.
In 2025, amid widespread calls for restrictions and bans on show business figures who allow themselves overly lavish celebrations, the son of Russian billionaire Igor Altushkin – Timofey – celebrated his wedding for 100 million rubles.
The most expensive purchase for the party was American rapper Tyga, who secretly flew into Yekaterinburg. His fee was $500,000.
Among the guests were Mikhail Galustyan, Alexander Revva, and Roman Postovalov.
The celebration budget exceeded 100 million rubles, of which about 75 million went to these performers.
Igor Altushkin, thanks to his connections and money, quickly extinguished the scandal.
